And it all began with a taste of something special. Long before 1900, travellers and locals alike were drawn to the Klüschenberg, where they would stop for a bite to eat at what was, at the time, a rather simple inn. Around the turn of the century, the ‘Logierhaus Klüschenberg’ finally came to life here.
One house. Many stories. - A guesthouse, a hotel-style guesthouse, a shooting club, or simply the ‘Klüschenberg’ house.
Over the decades and across generations, the building has changed hands – and with it, its names: whether it was a guesthouse, a hotel-guesthouse, the Schützenhaus or simply the ‘Klüschenberg’ house. But however much the times and names may have changed, one unwritten rule applied to every host: the establishment’s good reputation and a passion for outstanding, authentic cuisine.
The years 1974 to 1980 - Major fire, reconstruction and reopening.
Then, in 1974, came the turning point: just before a major, long-planned modernisation project was due to begin, a fire almost completely destroyed the old, venerable half-timbered building. Nothing remained but ashes, down to the foundation walls. But giving up was never an option for the Klüschenberg: step by step, a new building rose up on precisely these historic foundations. On 28 December 1980, ‘Haus Klüschenberg’ celebrated its opening – at that time as an elegant 15-room hotel, featuring a cosy barbecue bar and a banquet hall for up to 220 guests.
Today’s 4-star wellness hotel - A family business with heart and soul.
With the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dawn of a reunified Germany, the hotel embarked on a new chapter. Parkhotel Klüschenberg GmbH & Co. KG took over the hotel business and, with great dedication, transformed it into the 4-star wellness hotel it is today.
Run by Ernst Gotzian, Beatrice Gotzian and Linda Hartz (née Gotzian), the hotel is a true family business. And despite all the changes, one thing has remained the same: our excellent reputation and our passion for first-class cuisine.
